Successful Traceability Trial in Tasmanian Strawberries with Natural Trace

Tasmanian Strawberry field trial with Natural Trace traceability spray application

Natural Trace’s Technology Featured in Australian Berry Journal – Winter 2025

We’re thrilled to share that Natural Trace has been featured in the Winter 2025 edition of the Australian Berry Journal, showcasing the results of our recent successful field trials with Hillwood Berries in Tasmania, Australia.

In the article, “Traceability Innovation: Tagging Trust Into Every Berry” (page 59), we detail how our cutting-edge traceability ingredient, NaturalTag™, was applied directly to strawberries via pre-harvest spray. This biotechnology breakthrough enables lot-level traceability that integrates seamlessly with existing farm operations.

What sets NaturalTag™ apart is its ability to embed a unique, natural, and GMO-free identity directly onto the fruit itself, beyond the label, without affecting taste, texture, or shelf life. The result is an added layer of protection against counterfeiting, mislabelling, and fraud while supporting origin verification and transparency from paddock to punnet.

In addition to supporting food authenticity, NaturalTag™ also has the potential to assist in protecting the intellectual property of proprietary plant genetics, offering breeders and growers an added layer of oversight for their premium varieties.

This trial marks an important milestone in our mission to bring trusted, science-backed traceability to the fresh produce industry – empowering growers, protecting brands, and building consumer confidence.
